Welcome to the Gift of Psychotherapy. This is an exciting, challenging, yet incredibly rewarding journey that you are about to take. Thank you for considering us! We believe that therapy is grounded in the belief that you truly are the expert on you. Through your commitment to wanting to better you, growth and healing naturally follow. We embrace the relationship that we share with each client we serve and feel that through our alliance we can better understand who you are and how you relate to the world outside of yourself. Through our ability to work collaboratively, we will be able to enhance relationships you have; the most important being the one you have with yourself! Below you will find a little bit about ourselves and what you may expect from therapy.
Hello, My name is Blake Roberts, MA, LPC and I am the founder of The Gift of Psychotherapy. I work with children, adolescents and adults using an approach that focuses on identifying obstacles in your everyday life that may contribute to feelings of sadness, despair, anxiety, anger, guilt, depression, or any other unwanted emotion. I also work with couples and families to help each member begin to understand one another at a more intimate level and communicate more effectively; this ultimately leads to a more harmonious home and more authentic relationships. I believe therapy truly is a journey that is unique to each individual and begin every client/therapist relationship respecting that very individuaIity. You are not a diagnosis, nor any other label; you are a human being that has experienced trials and tribulations (as all of us have) and are simply looking to better yourself! I consider it a privilege and an honor to work with all my clients and believe through your investment in therapy a happier YOU will be found.
My office is located in the heart of Denver and I do offer a sliding scale for individuals in financial distress. My goal is to make psychotherapy widely available to anyone who is seeking a therapist. I have also recently opened an office on Thursdays in Longmont, for those that live up north. Please see below for address.
If you are looking to work through problems in your life that have left you feeling isolated, lacking any real control, or questioning the meaning of your everyday life, you might find my approach to therapy very beneficial.
Hello! My name is Lindsay Roberts, MA, LPC, and I feel honored to be able to join Blake - offering another option for potential clients at the practice.
Carol Burnett once said, "Only I can change my life. No one can change it for me." I firmly believe that each of us has the capability to make changes in our lives to be a better, happier, and more capable version of ourselves. Therapy is about working together to find this version - whether it be changing one's thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, or ideas to overcome issues that might involve trauma, fractured relationships or negative life experiences.
I specialize in working with adults and occasionally couples struggling with trauma/PTSD, relationship issues, and depression/anxiety. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing and Narrative Therapy.
With over 9 years in the community mental health arena - I have seen almost all! I consider myself open, honest, empathetic and engaging - creating the space that you need to start your journey towards change and overall wellness.
Like Blake, my office is located in Denver (at the same location) and I also feel therapy should be available to all who are in need, despite their financial situation. Individually, we are able to see clients with a variety of insurance providers - check out the "Fees" section as well as our individual Informed Consents in the "forms" section for more information. I would be happy to discuss this as well and I look forward to meeting with you!
